With its 3,6,9 Explorer dial layout, it’s uniquely its own in the Rolex lineup. Unmistakably emphasized by its rich custard luminous, this particular 1016 Explorer is full of character. It is one of the most impressive aspects of this piece. The matte Mk3 dial is impeccable and the all original patinated luminous is perfectly matching. The 4.09m serial case is in our opinion unpolished. The caseback is engraved with what’s presumed the original owner’s initials “R.C.T.” The watch is matched with an original Rolex CI US rivet bracelet.

Residing in a collection for more than a decade, it was recently uncovered and brought to market again. Before that, a renowned dealer in California surfaced it from a pawn shop.
